What is a Niche?
Niche is a word phrase for the popular topic or subject of a discussion that focused and targeted to particular market. Wikipedia defines a niche as 'a focused targetable portion (subset) of a market sector'. There are several important concepts that arise from this definition.
"Health", "Sports", "Animals", and "News," is not an example of niche because is too broad a term to be able to target. They are still a large market sector. While the "Weight Loss", "Golf Tools for Beginner", "Fishing techniques", "Political News", are the examples of the niche, because they more focused and targetable market. "Weight Loss" is a sub sector of the "health" market and you could target the interests and needs of people interested in decreasing their weight. "Weight Loss" market is both focused and targetable.
For example, if you type the word "Health" in the search engines, then you will found a lot of talk about health care. However, is it your interest? Although people that may be typing the word "health" reaches millions each month, they will certainly repeat the search with the change to be more specific, such as "Baby Health". This phrase is specific and can be an example of a niche. From this niche "health Baby" we can assume that the person typing these words in the search engines are likely to have difficulty learning or care about the baby's health.
Micro niche or
sub niche of a niche that is more specific to the target readers / visitors a more narrow again. For example, for the niche "baby health", micro niche or sub niche it can "baby health tips first year" or "food for the baby's health" and others.
Niche blog is a blog with a special niche that discusses a particular issue that will attract a lot of parties or party to perform a certain braided cooperation may be profit oriented or just a social oriented.
Niche market is a niche that has a specific target market. Thus, niche used to attract buyers in general and profit oriented.
There are an unlimited number of niches and sub niches that offer the would be Internet entrepreneur the opportunity for profit. Having a clear understanding of niche definition is a foundation that you can use to build your internet based empire. Without this information you might spend all your time using a shot gun approach that rarely produces results. Using the rifle approach for your business will more than likely give you results you can take to the bank.
